Large Morado Purple Opal Designer Cut Cabochon; Mexican Grape Opal

Rich celestial patterns of shades of Deep Purple and Bright White highlight this beautiful designer cabochon of Morado Purple Opal from Mexico. This gemmy cabochon has deep rich purple, almost, if not, indigo, that makes it a truly stand-out piece. I've cut this stone with a medium dome, girdled sides and a slightly beveled flat bottom. Note that, as can be seen in the photos, there is a small healed fracture line, but it really doesn't detract from the stone, though I've priced it lower because of this. Truly a gorgeous stone which will make a great piece of jewelry!

I cut this cab by hand and it's been highly polished both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.

Note that all my photos were taken using full spectrum lighting, which does fairly well in replicating natural sunlight. However, almost all cut stones will look best and brightest in direct sunlight.
