I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.
This rare and beautiful stone has more names than any other I've encountered. It is known as Tiffany Stone, Opalite, Bertrandite, Purple Opal, Ice Cream Opalite, Opal Fluorite and Opalized Fluorite. The last one is the most accurate, as it is basically opalized fluorite found in nodules in various beryllium mines in Utah.
