This is an astoundingly gemmy specimen of world class Azurite from the famed Milpillas Mine in Sonora, Mexico. This specimen displays that vivid electric blue and is comprised primarily of one astounding large crystal, showing off a large termination and minor crystals poking out from it's sides.

Azurite from the Milpillas Mine is already considered one of the most important discoveries of high quality mineral specimens ever found. Now that mining of the surface oxide zone which contains the azurite has ceased (the mine is now converting to process the solid chalcocite orebody beneath), these great azurites will never be mined from this locale again.
