Extremely Rare Blue Opal Petrified Wood. This astounding gemmy cabochon shows the blue-green opalized silica without any of the wood in which it formed. This beautiful material is from an ancient petrified forest on the steep slopes of Mt.Tjikolak in West Java, Indonesia. The blue-green color comes from copper and manganese. This material is getting harder to find in gem-quality because there’s only one source. This cab is especially clean, resembling gem silica. Here’s your chance at a rare and beautiful gemstone that would make a gorgeous piece of high-end jewelry!
Rare Blue Opal Petrified Wood Designer Cut Cabochon
33.7 x 23 x 6.2mm
34.93 cts.
I cut this cab by hand and it's been highly polish both front and back with slightly beveled bottom edges for easy setting and to protect the integrity of the stone.
Note that all my photos were taken using full spectrum lighting, which does fairly well in replicating natural sunlight. However, almost all cut stones will look best and brightest in direct sunlight.

The stone was beautiful! Was very much as described. The color was lovely, shape and finish were very nice. It will make a stunning bracelet or pendant. I was hesitant because of the price, but it was worth every penny. Shipping and packaging were also carefully done and it was received very quickly. Thank you so much. I will return to your site for other exquisite stones to use in my high end jewelry designs.
