Sand Selenite Cluster Formation Display Specimen from Peru

This Sand Selenite Cluster formation from Peru shows wonderfully as a highly aesthetic sculptural group of crystals. Sand Selenite formations take on the color of the sand because Selenite is a fibrous mineral and fine sand becomes trapped between the fibers as it crystallizes into plate formations; and these formations may be called Desert Roses (perhaps the most common), or other similar names based upon the shape that is formed. Most specimens have the sand forming both inside and outside of the selenite. With some pieces, the formation almost looks like shaped sand structures. These Sand Selenite formations are only found in deserts.
