This beautiful Noreena Jasper cabochon has gorgeous dense abstract patterns in deep red and gold with dark metallic rivers of hematite showing only a bit of the grey base. A truly unique stone coming from western Australia. Jewelry from this one-of-a-kind treasure certainly impress.
Noreena Jasper Designer Cut Cabochon
47.5 x 14.5 x 6.6mm
I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished to a high polish both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.
From the Pilbara region of Western Australia, Noreena Jasper is fairly new to the market and is being gobbled up by collectors and lapidary and jewelry enthusiasts pretty fast. Easily recognized by it's abstract angular and geometric patterns, it is actually silicated pelite (also known as mudstone), sometimes with a high iron content which can best be seen in the very thin dark lines in the stone, which appear metallic when the stone is polished.
