Gary Green Jasper (a/k/a Freedom Jasper or Larsonite) Designer Cut Cabochon, Designer Cabochons

Beautiful tight wavy-patterned bands in sage and teal greens are shown off in this cabochon of old school Gary Green. I've given it a medium low dome, girdled sides and a flat beveled back. A great cabochon from this highly sought after material, it will make a gorgeous piece of jewelry or addition to your collection!

I cut this cab by hand and it's been highly polished both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy and safe setting.

Note that all my photos were taken using full spectrum lighting, which does fairly well in replicating natural sunlight. However, almost all cut stones will look best and brightest in direct sunlight.

This material was thought to be petrified bog wood, but has recently been tested and found not to be petrified wood, so is now simply referred to as Gary Green or Gary Green Jasper. However, adding even more confusion to the situation, the original claim was recently sold and the new owners are choosing to call it "Freedom Jasper". I prefer to refer to it as "Gary Green", as that was the name when I purchased the material ;)
