Large Indian Blanket Jasper Designer Cut Cabochon

This large top grade cabochon of increasingly rare Indian Blanket Jasper has beautiful shades of light lavender to deep purple in a creamy white base with rich golden yellow patterns contrasting the deep purple. Certainly a standout example of this increasingly rare material from Southern Utah.

I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished to a high sheen both front and back with slightly beveled bottom edges for easy setting.

Found in southern Utah, though I’ve heard that it is no longer being collected, every slab and cabochon of Indian Blanket Jasper is different, though commonly in warm shades of brown, orange, red, purple, yellow, pink and white. Much of the highest quality Indian Blanket Jasper is more like an opalite than a jasper.
