This beautiful Fluorite from the now closed La Barre Mine (see below), France and displays beautifully, with an ethereal saturated Blue coloring and banding displayed in a nice perky display box. It provides an aesthetic mineral display of La Barre Mine Fluorite.

The La Barre Mine (La Martinèche Mine) is an ancient fluorite mine which operated a large fluorite-quartz vein hosted in migmatites. The operation, from 1918 until 1948, produced 80 000 tons of ore. Today, adits are closed (since 2000) and only dumps remain, but their search is prohibited... This deposit is well-known for its nice fluorite specimens, especially blue crystals (sometimes with purple or yellow "phantoms") on quartz.
