About Rutilated Quartz: Although Quartz is common, accounting for as much of 10% of the earth's crust, Rutilated Quartz is much more rare. The Rutile inclusions in the quartz which appear as thin strands or needles within the quartz are composed of a major ore of titanium. Found in various locations throughout the world, including Brazil, Madagascar, Norway and the United States, it is often used in metaphysical applications because the Rutile is said to enhance the properties of the host mineral, in this case Quartz.
