Pyrite and Apatite on Quartz from Huanzala Mine, Huallanca, Huallanca District, Bolognesi Province, Ancash, Peru
This gorgeous combo specimen from the Huanzala Mine, Peru has a mix of large Pyrite Cubes with a myriad of smaller cubes and clusters of Pyrite and a gorgeous substantial Apatite crystal on a base of Quartz crystals with a slightly orange hue, probably due to some hematite inclusion. The Apatite crystal fluoresces a brilliant pinkish red under UV lighting. This primary Pyrite cube in the center of the specimen is 36mm across and has fantastic luster.
