Fluorite with Calcite Inclusion from Cave-In-Rock Mining District, Hardin County, Illinois
This Illinois Cave-In-Rock Fluorite crystal displays beautifully, with a clear colorless outer zone and then purple zoning surrounding a lavender interior, nice translucence, and great stepped structure on the top of the Fluorite crystal, accompanied by a Calcite inclusion which fluoresces bright yellow under UV lighting. This is an outstanding and unique aesthetic mineral specimen from the Cave-In-Rock mining district and comes with a provenance dating back decades to a rock shop in Benton, Kentucky. It seems, though, that no one ever exposed it to UV in the past, as there's no mention of the inclusion.
