This eye-catching cabochon of contrasting bands of brilliant yellow and oranges and black is a gorgeous example of the perfectly named Bumble Bee Jasper from Indonesia, collected near the hot steaming calderas of an active volcano, giving an evocative image to the yellow-orange plumes in this cabochon. Dangerous to collect and also to cut, this stone actually must be cut with protective gloves and face mask as it contains arsenic. Safe to wear and touch in this highly polished state, it creates an appealing contrast in its design, and will definitely make a remarkable one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry!

Note that this cab does have some minor pitting on the surface, but this is not uncommon for this material and I felt that it did not distract from the stone and prefer to leave stones in their natural state rather than filling them with epoxy as some do.
