This unusual cabochon is Atlantasite from Tasmania, Australia, which has veins (appearing as spots) of purple Stichtite in a base of olive green Serpentine, I always loved the color combination, so when I saw some rough I had to give it a try. I've cut this unusual stone into a standard pear shape and given it a nice high dome for character. This material is soft (but solid and without fractures), takes a beautiful polish and the color is unique and gorgeous. Due to the softness, I would never recommend this for a ring, but it would make a standout pendant or necklace. I've only started working with this material, but the color and polish it takes make this one a joy to cut.

I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished to a high sheen both front and back with slightly beveled bottom edges for easy setting.
