Hangs from 18" Black Leather Cord (Short Chain section in back allows adjustment to about 16")

This bold eye-catching Pendant features a hand cut stone of spectacular flame-like billowing plumes in brilliant oranges and golden yellow contrasting with black banding which is a gorgeous example of the perfectly named Bumble Bee Jasper from Indonesia, collected near the hot steaming calderas of an active volcano, giving an evocative image to the yellow-orange plumes in this cabochon. Dangerous to collect and also to cut, this stone actually must be cut with protective gloves and face mask as it contains arsenic, though be assured that it is now safe to wear and touch in this highly polished state and I have even stabilized the stone with a polymer, which gives the otherwise relatively soft stone strength and protection. Truly a unique stone, some of the color of this material, literally millions of years in the making. And, yes, you can see that this stone has some minor "pitting" which is very common with this material, but I've left some of that to give it a more interesting organic and natural feel.

On a side note, I've worn a Bumble Bee Jasper Pendant which I made for myself from the same stash, and it always draws attention and comments wherever I go!
