Thin threads of yellow and red webbing intertwine like spider webs across the black surface of the stone in an abstract design only found in this unusual jasper. I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished to a high sheen both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.

Note that all my photos were taken using full spectrum lighting, which does fairly well in replicating natural sunlight. However, almost all cut stones will look best and brightest in direct sunlight.

Pilbara Picasso Jasper is a new material that comes from one locality in Australia and only a limited quantity is available from the mine. The colors are varied as are the patterns, but it typically found as Yellow, tan, orange and red lines in a black matrix. Since this material is tends to be fractured, it rarely cuts large slabs or spheres.
