Referred to as Dragon Blood Jasper or Dragon Stone Jasper (or simply Dragon Stone), this well domed cabochon is a nicely patterned rich green color with nice veins of deep red and subtle white patterns throughout the base. This stone has a great red patterns and is a perfect example of how the stone got its name. This stone is ready to become part of a truly treasured piece of jewelry or addition to a collection.

I cut this cab by hand and it's been highly polished both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.
I don't know a great deal about Dragon Blood Jasper other than the fact that it is from Australia. It is often found with veins or spots of deep red to orange-yellow in it, hence the dragon "blood". Though this stone is a mix of a variety of minerals, I've read that the main composition is Chrysocolla and the red portions are primarily Cuprite, but I haven't verified that so far. Either way, it is certainly an interesting and beautiful stone.
