Large Woodward Ranch Plume Agate Designer Cut Cabochon; Designer Cabochons

I cut this Top Shelf cab from a high grade parcel of highly coveted Woodward Ranch Plume Agate that I was lucky enough to come across. Looking almost like broad red lightening crashing the dark storm clouds, this cab shows off the prized red and black large feathery plumes in a translucent agate base which make this one of the more beautiful, rare and coveted forms of Plume Agate, and this cabochon has a fantastic strong large red plume dominating through its center! A remarkable one-of-a-kind stone which should make an incredible high end piece of jewelry or a highly treasured specimen addition to your collection!

I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished to a high mirror polish both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.

Note that all my photos were taken using full spectrum lighting, which does fairly well in replicating natural sunlight. However, almost all cut stones will look best and brightest in direct sunlight.

Woodward Ranch is a classic plume agate from Texas, popular in the 50's but is becoming scarce, and is a favorite of collectors. It's well defined plumes of red and black on a clear field make superb finished cabs which are highly prized by artisans and craftsmen.
