I cut this cab from a high grade parcel of Amethyst Sage Agate, and the rarest form of this - the pure deep lavender chalcedony - is referred to as Purple Sage Chalcedony. This cab is essentially Purple Sage Chalcedony showing off some bold but delicate black dendrites within the purple chalcedony.

I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished to a high sheen both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.
Amethyst Sage Agate, found in Nevada, is characterized by it's translucent lavender to purple colored chalcedony within an opaque to semi-translucent tan matrix and inclusions of black dendrites. Amethyst Sage Agate is actually a chalcedony with inclusions and neither Amethyst nor Agate, since it has no banding which is the primary defining characteristic of agate. Amethyst is included in the name because of the deep lavender color or the chalcedony. The rarest form of cut stone, and the most valued, is the pure deep lavender chalcedony - referred to as Purple Sage Chalcedony. The inclusions and color variations in Amethyst Sage Agate along with the deep lavender chalcedony can create very etherial landscape scenes with a forest of black dendrite trees in some cut stones.
