A true rich deep lavender purple color, this gorgeous cabochon is from material coming from Africa in limited quantities. This material is soft (but solid and without fractures), but takes a beautiful polish and the color is simply gorgeous. I've given this cabochon a medium high dome, girdled sides and a slightly beveled bottom. Due to the softness, I would never recommend this for a ring, but it would make a standout pendant or necklace. I've always been a big fan of purple, so this material is definitely one of my favorites.

I cut this cab by hand and it's been polished to a high sheen both front and back with slightly beveled bottom edges for easy setting.
Note that all my photos were taken using full spectrum lighting, which does fairly well in replicating natural sunlight. However, almost all cut stones will look best and brightest in direct sunlight.
