Blue Tide Seam Agate Designer Cut Cabachon

Here is a great cabochon of the new find Blue Tide Seam Agate coming out of Garut, West Java, Indonesia, and featured in an article in the December 2019 issue of Rock & Gem magazine. In person, I would characterize the color more as a teal than blue, but it is eye-catching and truly a marvelous new stone. I've cut this cabochon so with the plumes surging across a canvas of creamy white to set them off and given it a slightly higher dome (to get as much of the plumes as possible), girdled sides and a flat beveled back. This cabochon is sure to make your next jewelry piece something truly special and one-of-a-kind.

I cut this cab by hand and it's been highly polished both front and back with slightly rounded bottom edges for easy setting.

Note that all my photos were taken using full spectrum lighting, which does fairly well in replicating natural sunlight. However, almost all cut stones will look best and brightest in direct sunlight.
