This cab of rare and remarkable Nacozari Turquoise has great pyrite inclusions in a base of blue turquoise from the Nacozari mine in Sonora, Mexico. The mine is located south of the Bisbee, Arizona mine in the same mountain range. I've cut this with a moderately high-dome to give it even greater impact. This stone just draws you into it with it's bold but peaceful presence. This cabochon has great eye-appeal and will definitely make an stunning one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry!
Nacozari Turquoise Designer Cut Cabochon
36.5 x 25.2 x 7.5mm
57.88 cts.
I cut this cab by hand and it's been highly polish both front and back with slightly beveled bottom edges for easy setting and to protect the integrity of the stone.
The Nacozari mine is closed for good according to Mexican officials. A Canadian gold mining company has acquired the mine and does not want any production of Turquoise to come from the mine. This is strictly enforced. Nacozari turquoise is very hard to locate and highly collectible at the present time.
